At the end of the competitive season 2009, Emanuele Naspetti has come back to the racing track during the last weekend, starting at the wheel of one Ferrari 430 GT3 of Kassel Racing in the 19th edition of the classic competition endurance disputed on the Roman circuit of Vallelunga. All this with an exceptional team fellow : the nine times world and champion and legend of the motorcycling Valentino Rossi.
Without any fear for Ferrari 430 GT3, Emanuele Naspetti and the crew companions Emanuele Moncino and Aldo Taddeo – has immediately obtained the quickest lap in the Free Trials , achieving also the pole position in the Qualifying Trials. The race ended unfortunately after 79 laps, but they have been sufficient to sign the second chronometric performance on the lap. More lucky the other two cars of Kessel Racing on the podium together with Gino Forgione – Tiziano Carugati – Francesco Lamazza (second) and Valentino Rossi – Alessio Salucci – Andrea Ceccato (third).
Naspetti stated “It has been really a fabulous experience to come back driving a car of Cavallino Rampante after the seasons in American Le Mans Series (with 550 Maranello) and in FIA GT (with 575 GTC), I never got on a GT3 before the last week-end, but I did not think twice before taking the wheel as soon as I had the opportunity to drive a Ferrari 430 GT3. It has been so pleasant and stimulating to fight with a big of the motorsport such as Valentino Rossi and I am sure he had enjoyed himself too, I think to be one of the few who can say to have seen the mythical 46 yellow in the rear-view mirrors! I finally wish to thank the men of Kessel Racing for the qualification, professionality and absolute care of the image they have demonstrated”.
